Personal Therapy
Our Approach
For adults, we offer a flexible, relationship-based, talk therapy approach, infused with Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and Narrative Therapy to decrease anxiety, depressive related stressors, and worries. As a team, you and your clinician will identify ways in which to develop a mindset, and perspective favorable toward making positive, healthy change.
When sensations of worry, stress, and fear fester and root themselves in our minds, hearts, and bodies following a set of challenging experiences — psychotherapy may help. When these troublesome thoughts, and emotions interfere with your ability to lead a happy, productive life, there are healthy, positive solutions to help you bounce forward from the setbacks that keep you down.
Our professionally trained, clinicians at UniHealth are here for help and support. Call us to schedule your initial meet and greet.

How does it work?
Psychotherapy is the process of meeting with a professionally trained provider (clinician) who uses scientifically validated procedures to help you work through worries, and problems.
The process is grounded in collaborative dialogue (talk), and could at times also include: art, meditation, behavioral rehearsal, mapping, paper/pencil exams, music, homework assignments, establishing cognitive frames, etc. There are many approaches to psychotherapy. Ask your clinician about their specialty approach, and the goodness of fit between what they offer, and what you are looking for in terms of care.

Steps we take.
The very first step is to call us or send us a message to schedule a first appointment. Thereafter, if we are a good match, we will schedule regular and routine appointments. In these appointments, working collaboratively, we will develop a plan of action to keep us moving forward.
